I've been trying Ulysses and like it so much I really wish I had more use for it:) Is there a plug-in API or plug-in examples so I can play with exporting to blog formats?

We currently don't have an SDK or documented public API. We once had an export SDK but there never really was a request for it (I think it was about 1 in five years) so it was not updated for Ulysses 2.0. For now, we can offer to send you the relevant header files.

Thanks for the reply, I wouldn't mind taking a look at the headers to see what I can make of them. My Obj-C experience has been limited to the iPhone but I can try to make sense of it:)

I emailed you the relevant header files. Maybe you can make some sense of them ;)

I too would like to write my own export filters (messing around with Markdown a lot).
Could you please publish the API or the header files?

    Thanks

We are also currently developing an web export plugin, big style. Markdown, HTML and so on will be a no-brainer with it :) A public beta is scheduled for march, let's see how we do about it...

So did the beta of the web export plug in happen? Or still to come.

I too would be very interested in being able to write my own exporter.

Failing that, it'd be nice to be able to mark paragraph and character styles with before and after text in the Plain Text exporter. (From what I can see, that option is only available for Markers.)

Whoops. Just noticed that you can do that for Character styles. Still, it would be sometimes handy to be able to do it for paragraph styles too.

We're really close to releasing the beta for the WebExport plugin (see this Blog posting ), maybe even next week. Just check our Blog for updates.

We discontinued the public Plugin API due to lack of interest. Not a single 3rd-party plugin had been developed over the curse of 6 years. However, if you still want to do one on your own, drop us a line at ulysses@the-soulmen.com and we'll be happy to help you out.
