Ulysses 2.0: emacs-trained fingers - is any way to get the old cocoa key bindings back?

    i just recently upgraded to 2.0 and i've been lax in spending some quality time with version 2.0. but i've run into a big problem. my emacs trained fingers were actually quite at home with the previous versions of ulysses but i've discovered to my horror that 2.0 seems to override ctl-f/b/n/p and such with some nasty behavior.

    is there any way to get the default cocoa/emacs keybindings back? this is the kiss of death for me.

    You can overwrite and/or re-map these key bindings in the system preferences. In Snow Leopard it's under Keyboard>Keyboard Shortcuts. Hit the plus button and alter the shortcuts that annoy you. I hope this helps, Max

    thanks for the suggestion. i had explored that earlier, but lacking the option to remove a key binding didn't pursue it further.

    for the benefit of others, i was able to resolve this by remapping the offending commands to bizare F-key combination's for use within ulysses. this restored the default cocoa key bindings for text navigation. thanks!

    a bit of feedback for the developers, it would be nice to retain the usual cocoa behavior for text navigation which is consistently used in the balance of the OS, and provide some alternate key bindings for the views which in my experience are used far less frequently. i am after all in ulysses to write and navigate the keyboard. ;)

    I never noticed that these commands are pre-assigned for text navigation in OSX. Or do you use a custom plugin to enable a emacs-like navigation with ctrl-f/b/n/p.

    nope - this is the system default it has been as long as i've been using OSX. if you open up /System/Library/Frameworks/AppKit.framework/Resources/StandardKeyBinding.dict in the property list editor you get the defaults. apps should get bonus points for honoring the meta-b/f and ctrl-w which are immensely handy.
