When I write in fullscreen mode, I notice lag when I hit return or backspace( adding/ deleting lines) The text overlaps for a second and jumps into its new line. I was wondering if anybody else have experience in fullscreen mode. It feels a bit sluggisch this way. It happens in new projects and in existing projects.

I'm working on a Macbook Pro uni, 2.4ghz, 4gb ram and a 7200rpm disk; should be enough I guess.

This might be related to Fonts, have you tried using a different one?

Jup. I used Times, Arial and Helvetica, at different fontsizes ( 10,11,12,13). I'm not sure what the default Font and size is, but if it is a different font then the ones I tried, that would be worth a shot.

The default is Lucida Grande 13pt, but the fonts you mentioned shouldn't create problems. We will investigate this.

Tried it with Lucida, but still the same performance. Thanks for your reply Dirk, hope you guys figure this out ;-)

We see these glitches as well. Unfortunately this seems to be some kind of bug in the text system :/ And currently we have no idea what could be the problem...

I''m experiencing the same lapse typing: the cursor stops, while i'm still typing and then it shows the entire text writed during the cursors freeze. It's like write while sobbing... :/
But it came out of the blue, maybe due to some code corruption? Maybe install again could fix the problem?

I've noticed the "bug" seems to affect only a specific file (the only one i'm working on): creating a new file, i can write as smoothly as usual. How can i fix the corrupted file?

So, technically there's no difference between two projects and why they may be fast or slow. This is really weird. We will do some changes to how things work in the upcoming Ulysses 2.1 release, maybe that helps a bit.

More weird to come! I've made a copy from the file on desktop and it works fine: then, i have moved the copy into the original folder and it works again. But the original didn't do the same.
I think maybe i have messed up something, but i can't figure out what. It could be the time to start the project again, for new prospective :)
Thanks for you work and don't mind about "Scrivener" (i red about it in another discussion): i used it and then run away, because every time i ended in a sort of "cul de sac" (with my phd thesis and my novel). Like i red from one of your customers, "Ulysses" lets you concentrate about your work, making you feel to write first and organized the work in a second time. That is THE feature for working with text.
In one word, i bought "Ulysses" (and it is not an obvious thing ;p) and it solved all my problems. In my country, in this cases we say "holy money" ;)
