    Hello-

    First of all I would like to say I'm in love. I've been switching over to Uly after extensively working in Scriv & I literally feel like I've come home. All the small annoyances of Scriv are gone (don't get me wrong, Scriv is a great app) & now I feel completely in touch with my work without any extraneous clutter. I also feel totally in control of final output formatting, which is a wonderful feeling!

    That said, I do have one question regarding bibliography/footnotes:

    When I'm working on a shorter piece I've found that my workflow is quicker when I just use Uls "footnotes" markup (as opposed to scanning with Sente etc). However I've run into something that I haven't been able to figure out how to do, namely, HOW TO CREATE A BIB/CITATION AREA at the bottom of the doc.

    Creating specific footnotes is easy and elegant, but everything I've tried to just create a simple citation area at the bottom of the document isn't working. I know I could just add the full citations to the bottom but I would prefer (for a few reasons) to be able to keep all the citations in the notes area & only use citationIDs throughout the document.

    To (hopefully!) make myself clear here is a sample to explain:

    This is a bit of text that has an actual footnote referencing it and therefore will be numbered and have the full footnote at the bottom of this page{{footnote1-"Hello I'm a fully cited footnote, how are you?"}}

    Here is a bunch more text that doesn't have any footnotes directly referencing anything but there are works that need citation at the end of the doc.

    And then finally,

    Works Cited:
    {{-"Hello, I'm a full citation but not directly referenced as a footnote. How can I be included using a citation key?"}}

    ###

    The above "Works Cited" markup creates the correct formatting at the bottom, but then also creates "blank" footnote numbers below the last bit of text. Deleting these footnote numbers in Nissus deletes the actual footnotes as well since they're linked.

    I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, so hopefully someone can set me straight.

    Thanks much,
    -scott

    Sorry for not answering to this topic for so long. Are you planning to export to LaTeX or PDF/RTF? For the latter, I currently don't see a straight-forward solution. For LaTeX, you can create a separate Style getting replaced with \cite{} on export and use BibTeX for the bibliography.

    Hey Dirk-

    Thx for the reply... even a belated response is 50 skidillion times better than being ignored.

    I'm actually taking it into Nisus & formatting there and then saving as PDF or RTF, depending. It would be nice though to be able just to go from Uls to PDF with this type of thing for really short work. No big though because Nisus is part of my workflow.
