    Hi,

Thought I'd report a few bugs/quirks around window behaviour in Ulysses which although minor managed to distract me earlier on:

    1) When you click on a menu bar item (at least one with a drop down menu), the main Ulysses window loses focus. I wasn't sure *what* was strange before I realised this is what was happening, but it did keep throwing me off that something was changing elsewhere on the screen every time I clicked in the menu bar.

    2) You can't double click the window title bar to minimise. Presumably this is known, but I did find this pretty frustrating & quirky.

In general, looove what you've done with Ulysses 2.0. I used to post on the blu-tec forum ages ago for 1.0, upgraded to 2.0 recently and it feels so refreshed and modern again, I've begun using it over Scrivener which now (to me) feels bloated. Keep up the good work!

Also – is this the best venue for reporting bugs?

    Cheers,

    Ross

I can't really reproduce in Ulysses. Can you give a specific example for a menu bar item?
Maybe you have some interface extensions installed that cause this behavior.

This should work if you enable double-click to minimize in the System Settings (in the "Appearance" preference pane).

You can always report any kind of bugs directly to support@the-soulmen.com.

Hi Götz – thanks for the response.

On looking closer the window doesn't lose "full" focus – it's just the bar along the bottom that switches from "in focus" to "out focus". Here is how it happens:

    1) I have the Ulysses window at front and in focus.

    2) I click on say the clock menu bar item to see its drop down menu.

    3) The clock menu drops down, and the Ulysses status bar at the bottom of the window goes out of focus.

    4) I click off the clock drop down menu and Ulysses status bar comes back into focus.

I know, I know – it sounds minuscule now that I spell it out, but it kept throwing me off every time I went to menu bar items so it seemed worth reporting.

The second "bug" I mentioned wasn't a bug at all, I didn't have the setting enabled like you say. I'd set up a new account and didn't realise this wasn't a default behaviour. My bad!

    Cheers,

    Ross

I can reproduce this behavior now and it seems quite strange. We'll see what we can do about it.
