First, I want to say I LOVE this app on my iPad. I'm already filling up sheets. I love the fonts and the ability to move through words by tapping the sides.

I know the charm in this app is in its minimalism, but it would be great to adjust the FONT SIZE to something a little bigger. For those long, extended writing sessions.

Also, because I'm spoiled by writing in Ulysses, I'd love to have the ability to use TYPEWRITER SCROLLING, keeping the words I write in the center of the screen.

Other than that, I think this app is perfect. Thanks for all the great work!

Thanks for the praise! We'll consider your suggestions for future releases. I don't know if typewriter scrolling will be possible on the iPad, but we'll have a look into it.

Maybe a bit linked to the feature request by gusmcgee: Is there a way to sync daedalus touch on iPad and Ulysses on mac?

I would like to be able to move a page from one stack to another.

bart: No direct synching at the moment, but Ulysses can import and export the plain text files for Daedalus.
Stobbs: That's a thing definitely planned for one of the future versions.

May I add my request to that of Stobbs? I realize I can fix a mistake about what stack I write in by cutting and pasting, but it seems more "soulmen-like" to just move the sheet. Naturally, as a user rather than programmer, I've no idea how much grief we're asking you to undergo! But, cheers.....

I'd like to be able to launch Daedalus from other iPad apps - preferably to target stack (I tried Daedalus://open to no avail)

keybored: Moving sheets between stacks will be possible in the future.
Bricoleur: We'll have a look into that, thank you for the suggestion!

@Bricoleur: May I ask about the purpose for this? It sounds intriguing, somehow, but I wonder what's its use cases would be. Thanks.

I'm using wiki software on the iPad to capture and organize "fieldstones" for my writing; I'd Ike to be able to put link in the default header so from each page I could simply Copy text from the wiki page, hit the link and paste in the Daedalus touch page.

I also use this type of functionality to open PDF files etc that I have found. I often find myself using the wiki to organize - being able to directly launch the document rather than having to find the app then navigate to a specific doument to get what I want is a big productivity tool.

Since writing my request I've found that a double touch of the iPad switch brings up recently used apps (so 3 clicks can get me where I want to go) and so in the case of Daedalus it's not as important as I thought but it would still be a nice convenience ....

In response to the OP's comment anent minimalism, I would say that it can in certain instances be a charming feature of an app. However, there is such a thing as taking the concept too far and I wouldn't like to see this as the prevailing paradigm in this app.

In regard to my own experience with Daedalus Touch, as great an app as it is, I would like to see the ability to italize and bold in formatting of text in the body of the sheet. A new user of Daedalus ztouch, I have not been able to find this feature in the app and would dearly love to be able to bring italics and bolding to the body of my sheets.

@Cyber Trekker: Bold and Italics is unfortunately quite difficult to do. There are ways around, and some other apps have done this, but we have decided to stick with system-provided functionality as far as possible -- at least for now.

You can, however, use Markdown in your texts to mark sections as strong or emphasized. These sections will then be formatted during export. Just make sure to turn on "Markdown" there.

    I have a couple to suggest/add, too:

First line indent on paragraphs. I'm an author and have long, long pages of dialog. Without indents, it can be a little hard to see where one paragraph ends and the next one begins.

Automatic synching would be nice, so I'm to having to back ot of my page all the time to synch up the stack.

I write books using DT and my pages are really long. I'd love to see page displayed as something a little smaller and in multiple rows. It takes me a while to get all the way to chapter 40 of the book. It's a small complaint, though.

That's all I can think of! Love the app. It's quick and responsive, which I've been searching for for a long time. Those long chapters choke up most apps.

@Synchrosina: We decided against general first line indentation, because it really only makes sense from the second paragraph downwards. BUT, you can insert a tab whenever you like. It's one of the special characters on the extra button row (which needs to be enabled via the Look & Feel settings). Maybe this helps.

Same with auto-syncing: We decided against it for various reasons, one being performance. Since we'd need to sync whenever you made a change, switching between sheets may become slow and unresponsive. Especially with multiple sync-targets (Dropbox, MobileMe). However, we're working on this, and *may* implement auto-sync with one of the next versions.

Multiple pages/navigation: Navigation of really large stacks is a problem, and it's on our map since day one. This will definitely make it into one of the next releases.

Okay, responsiveness is lovely and certainly wouldn't want to lose it. What about being able to synch from within the sheet? That's my primary problem - losing my place because I'm backing out to the whole stack in order to synch it.

Yeah, we're thinking about making sync available from every view, and in turn moving the settings out of the editor.
  5.
And move them to the iPad settings page? Would we retain the ability to assign each stack to its own Dropbox folder?

I may have been unclear here. Sync settings will remain under the sync button. But everything under Look & Feel may get reorganized and moved around.
