What controls the formatting of text exported as footnotes?

Seems like an elementary question and I'm a bit embarrassed to ask, but...

I can control the font, but not the size or other characteristics.

Even though I have no inline styles applied to notes and I’ve selected “Don’t touch” for footnotes, the footnote text exported to PDF comes out smaller than what’s actually in my Notes pane.

Is this font size determined by Ulysses or by the PDF reader (or OS X)?

(I get the same result with files exported to RTF and opened in Nisus: 9.5 pt font in footnotes, even though I have a larger size in my Ulysses document. I suspect this font size is set by Nisus, but am not sure.)

For me, at any rate, also: other text formatting in Notes (italic, bold, alignment, etc.) gets lost in export.

Most likely I've just missed something basic ;-) Sorry if that's the case

Well, currently, we do ;) It's currently not possible to change the footnote formatting, but we might change that in a future release.
