By any chance do you have an estimated release date? I'm really looking forward to it!

    Ehmmm, to be honest: No.

But at least we have an idea of an concept for now. And I have a (not working) tech-demo on my iPhone. I'll be some time, I think...

Max hasn't seen my latest paper yet. ;)

However, apart from technical aspects, concept and coding, there are some rather difficult decisions to be made, whose variables are not in our own hands. E.g. the App Store is very problematic as it is today, to say the least, and there's quite a lot to figure out as far as offering that product is concerned. For one, let's just assume we'd like to give the mobile version for free to every user of a standard desktop license. That seems to be impossible with the current infrastructure, even with promo-codes. Then there's the problem of the App Store not supporting multiple versions of the same application, which can get us in a lot of trouble if we don't watch out (read: updates, system requirements, compatibility).

And so on... not that easy. So there's no release date yet, though we're aiming for "in 2009". If we get approved, of course, which may not happen if someone at Apple thinks we're "duplicationg functionality", he.

it would be sooo cool to have some writing app with desktop<->iPhone sync. I would even be willing to learn how to use Ulysses without all that easy to use formatting other writing apps have. Why not the other way around: offer a coupon for the desktop app when getting the iPhone app, that approach is oftentimes being used. hmmm, a danger would be, maybe, all those ignorant users wanting easy formatting for the desktop app ... (just kidding)

    as I pointed out here:

iPhone users who want to write on the iPhone are still having a very hard time, mobile Ulysses would be cool to have!

Mobile Ulysses would be especially handy if the rumours about an Apple Tablet become reality. Reportedly, it may run a version of the iPhone OS.
