    Is there a way to get the word count of the selected text? I'm not seeing that as an option. If not, please consider this a feature request. :)

    I considered opening a new document, pasting the text into that document, and getting the word count that way, but my concern with that method is that it will fill up the document trash and make the file huge.

    Just select the text and look at the info panel. You'll see both the document count and the selection count. :)
