Ulysses 2.0: Smart dashes

    Okey, not sure what this is called in english, but you know these dialouge indiators, --. Smart dashes? Anyway, there is a option called "smart dashed" and it converts the -- to a straight line sort of..but the checkmark keeps dissapairing..its like the setting doesent stick..
    any thought?

    I had the same problem, got no help here.

    Ignore the Ulysses preferences. Instead, go to system preferences.

    Keyboard > keyboard > input sources > text > where you can add a new change: [-- becomes —].

    Warning: this affects the whole system, not just Ulysses.

    That's in fact the best option, thank you LtMulvey. But the setting should in fact stick per Document. Have you noticed any pattern in when the checkmark disappears?

    It always disappears when I close Ulysses, even now that the change is system-wide.
