I recently had to reinstall everything because of a slowly dying HD.
Since reinstalling everything (on 2 drives, one for the OS and one for ~/Home), Ulysses fails to remember the selected font in the preferences for the display. I wonder whether this means it cannot, somehow, save the preferences?

I did notice that Ulysses is stored in /Applications, but the application support is not in /Library but in ~/Library. Can this be relevant?

If you installed the App Store version of Ulysses, the Application Support folder and all Preferences are stored in subfolders of
This is due to the Apple's sandboxing restrictions, where each application has only access to its own data.
It is indeed strange that the selected font cannot be remembered. Is there any Console output?
Also, you could check if settings are remembered if you backup/delete the above data folder.

I do not know whether (another!) permissions repair did the trick, but it suddenly remembers the font.
I did have permission problems, but had done a pretty deep restore on advice of some Apple guru when I could no longer sync two macs (via terminal first and recovery boot partition subsequently). I now can sync again, but there were still permissions noted as incorrect by disk utility.
In any case, I'm glad it works again!
