General: "Trial" still shows on splash screen after App Store purchase?

    Decided to go ahead and give Ulysses a try (hard not to, at $20), so I bought it from the App Store. Everything went smoothly, but now when I run it, the initial splash sceen still shows the Trial bar along the top. It's "frozen" and doesn't countdown anymore, so I'm not worried, but it's really messing with my zen thing, man. Any tips on getting rid of it?

    The App Store version of Ulysses doesn't contain a trial bar. Is it possible that you're still running the demo app? The Mac App Store version should have been installed directly to your Applications folder -- if not, please delete the Ulysses.app from there or move it to somewhere else and then re-download Ulysses via the App Store.

    Yes, I was not clear that I was running the trial version, and then bought it from the App Store.

    Now that I've revisited this, the trial bar IS still counting down, so I think you're correct that I'm still running the trial version. After looking closer, the App Store downloaded the purchased Ulysses into a folder named "Ulysses" under /Applications, rather than putting the program itself in /Applications. I don't know that I've had this occur with other trial software, but perhaps so.

    it might be worth looking into this. I'm something of a "power user," but even I missed this little quirk, as it was not expected behavior. The non-techie user might have more problems. Shouldn't App-Store-Ulysses overwrite Trial-Ulysses on purchase and download?

    As far as I'm aware, the Mac App Store doesn't replace existing files in the /Applications folder (we don't have any influence on this). Thus, if the Ulysses demo was in /Applications, it was not replaced upon purchasing Ulysses from the App Store.
