    I purchased Ulysses 3.
opened preferences, noticed Daedalus option GREYED out. Cannot be checked.
Went to my ipad, enabled iCloud syncing.
Several hours later, none of the Daedalus files are showing up in Ulysses 3.
Option in preferences still greyed out.

    What gives?

Do you have Documents & Data enabled in iCloud? Do you have a folder in ~/Library/Mobile Documents/ called "somethingsomething~com~soulmen~dtouch" ?

I have a similar issue. I can see the files are in the ~/Library/Mobile Documents (iCloud) folder on my Mac but Ulysses doesn't show them in the iCloud group. I've quit and restarted Ulysses but that didn't help.

Actually, things have from bad to worse.
I decided to re-install Daedalus on my iPad. This resulted in dozens of duplicate documents appearing, all of which were from the app itself (welcome, getting started, etc.)

Furthermore, when I open Ulysses 3 and click on the iCloud section, the "working" or syncing icon starts spinning and never stops, as if it cannot contact or connect with iCloud.

I should mention finally, I am having no other issues with any of my other iCloud enabled writing apps, either on the iPad or on my mac.

    Hello,

I have the same problem. But ~/Library/Mobile Documents/X5AZV975AG~com~soulmen~dtouch/Documents is empty.

    Cheers

So...do our text overlords have any help for us...?

Interestingly enough, a stack started on my iPhone show all right on my iPad.

So. I have done all I can:

    - deleted icloud folder from my mac
    - deleted all 57 duplicate copies of the intro documents from my iPAd
    - DELETED Daedalus Touch from my iPad
    - RESTARTED my iPAd
    - INSTALLED Daedalus Touch back to my iPad
    - turned on and off icloud, making sure that there no pending dcouments
    - finally managed to enable iCloud without any duplicates appearing.
    - create new document with icloud enabled.
RESULT: nothing. still not pushing the document to iCloud.

Furthermore, if I have ONE SINGLE sheet in Daedalus Touch, and I turn iCloud on and then off, a duplicate of the document appears. Synchronization

    Help?
  1.
I have no end of problems with U3, but the DT integration is not one of them. This is really well done.

Look hard at your DT setup. The problem is probably at your end. DT docs appear in then DT list in U3. Stop looking at Finder. DT does not look at the U3 space in iCloud. The reverse is true.

I appreciate your conviction that it is on my end, but alas, I think not.
I am not looking in finder.
Not a single document in DT appears in D3.

    However, thanks for the advice.

    OK, fair enough.

Seems like I am not the only true blue critic on this forum.

I am a critic of the design of U3, not of the integration of DT. But Scrivener is still the rolled gold example of how to do external text editor integration. They just don't do markdown stuff. If they did, I wouldn't be here.

Well, we are on two ends of the spectrum.
I also use Scrivener, but at times, find the complexity of it...distracting.
And I would have to disagree. I don't think that it does external text integration well at all. The amount of clicks and work I have to do...well, my thoughts on this can be found in their forums.

The promise of a sleek, and light, markdown editor that integrates with sister version on my iPad and iPone is something I need i my workflow. But clearly, unlike you, the synchronization of these elements has utterly failed for me, as they have for others in this forum.

As a developer myself, I know that it is often hard to take criticism after working days and nights to deliver something you lave loved and laboured over. However, a long time supporter of Ulysses, I think I can be most useful by being honest and forthcoming with my criticisms. Otherwise what is the point?

I am disappointed by the rollout, I am disappointed that it does not work as promised, and disappointed there has been no support on the forums from the developer themselves. I am stunned that a product launch has no category in the support forums, that the developers are not actively monitoring those that here are.

Full disclosure, I happen to know how difficult it is to integrate iCloud in an app, and the hellfire mess that is core data. BUT. if you are going to use it at all, make it work or don't bother.

Pure speculation on my part, but there was an announcement here July 2012 that this forum would be phased out a couple of months later (Sept/Oct 2012?) and that all support would then shift to Zendesk. I guess I'm surprised that the forum is still up and running, but the above could explain why there is no official presence or new category here for U3.
