Sorry for the poor title description. It's very early here in the US and I couldn't come up with a better title.

I used a program ages ago that had a build in counter for words and chapters. Under Pref. there was a "Session Goal" and you could enter your goal. I know that some writers set daily writing goals (Stephen King writes 3000 words/daily) and am wondering if this would be a good feature to implement?

The more I think about it, however, I'm not in favor. One of the beauties of Ulysses is the simplicity. Seems to me that it would begin to teeter on the edge of "bloat".

I just figured I'd throw it out there for some opinions.

We haven't had this since we were around. However recently, Marcus seemed to have a really nice idea for doing it in a subtile way and much more useful than in most other apps. Funnily I haven't been taught any further details, so I can't share them. It's not on our list for version 2.1 - but maybe it'll make it in 2.2 or likewise...

I look forward to it. I thought it was a neat feature in the application, but not necessary. If you can keep it subtle, yet effective, I think you'll really have something. I can't remember the program I was using before, but if it comes to me I'll share.
