    Sorry if I’ve missed this somewhere, but I don’t find it (even though it seems elementary).

    Is it possible to export a document as plain text and to keep footnotes with the document?

    That's currently not possible, but it's on our list. You can export to RTF with footnotes without any formatting, though.

    Given Ulysses’ commitment to plain text, it seems that being able to archive a project as plain text would make so much sense. I'll look forward to its implementation.
    There are ways around this limitation, but it is a feature I would value.
    (For footnotes, I can copy paste them into body of document; export as rtf; open in Nisus; export as plain text. This works, but...)
    Edit: A bit slow here...Better is simply to choose Insert notes during export as rtf.
