So today I took the plunge and bought Ulysses off MUpromo (many thanks to The Soulmen for making it a generous 3 day deal!)... and I couldn't be happier. After evaluating it for some time, I've come to love its clean user interface, which makes writing a truly focused and distraction-free task as it should be. I also love the multiple notes-per-document feature except for one little quirk I've noticed. It seems that sometimes, after expanding/collapsing the notes, they can get cut off so that the ends of sentences trail off the edge of the window. Resizing the window doesn't help, but switching between Notes and Notes + Excerpt view manages to reset things back to normal. It's a minor issue, but it can get just a tad annoying at times when I'm trying to read that last bit of sentence that runs off the edge.
EDIT: Upon further use, I've come across some other strange behavior with notes. For some reason, when I add bolded text at the start of a new line between two passages of existing text, Ulysses will slow down and the text will appear very slowly and/or it will go down vertically instead of going across as expected. This only happens when adding text in the middle of a note instead of at the bottom. I figure this may have something to do with the way the notes pane is resized? I also saw this in the Console:

Finally, while I'm at it, I'd like to add--hopefully without sounding too naggy... ;)--that the width settings for console mode don't seem to stick when switching to a larger external monitor. I use a 15" MBP that I hook up to a 23" LCD on my desktop. When I have Ulysses open on the Macbook, and then switch monitors to the LCD and enter console mode, the width settings are stretched and no longer fixed. I'm sorry if this all sounds confusing, but basically I have the width set to 600 pixels, and somehow on the LCD it appears wider than that; however, if I open Ulysses while using the LCD, then switch to the Macbook, the width settings stay intact.
Overall, Ulysses is an excellent, focused writing app that suits my needs very well, and besides these little issues, it works wonderfully. Thanks in advance for your help!
I'm running Snow Leopard (10.6.1). I don't have any haxies or extensions that I know of, and the only input manager I have is Edit in Writeroom. I uninstalled it to see if it would help the issue, but the notes are still getting cut off on occasion, usually after I expand one of them.
