// Ulysses Core is our stripped-down version of Ulysses 2.0; it's built on the same foundation, but more geared towards casual writers and those on tighter budgets.

# It's the same great experience · Everything that makes Ulysses *the* definite writer's tool is still in place: Semantic Editing, Document Notes, Console Mode, Filters, Collections, Metadata, you name it. Excluded are only those features that mostly benefit users with very large projects and/or lots of inter-connected documents.

# Cut, not crippled · Missing from Ulysses Core are project-wide Search & Replace and the Text Trash. There are no Templates, Excerpts, Bookmarks or Project Notes. And while the complete RTF- and TXT Exporters are present, we left out PDF, DOC and LaTeX. Other than that, it’s the full Ulysses experience (and fully compatible) at almost half the price.

# Is it for you? · Now… if you’re writing a book, a thesis or anything of length — go and get Ulysses. It’s the real deal, and you will never look back.

But if you’re a blogger, or any sort of freelance journalist, you should give Core a shot. It might just be all you need.
